Advantages in using a Childcare Agency Families: We take up at least three references and check them out thoroughly over time We only place Childcarers with a track proven record on our register We personally interview all prospective Childcarers before considering them for inclusion on our database. We Star Rate all Childcarers to provide additional information to Families at a glance We are able to respond quickly to requests from Families by drawing on our Pool of Childcarers waiting for a placement We have experience of the Childcare Industry which Families working unaided do not have, therefore we offer added peace of mind. We know what to look for in candidates and the questions to ask at interview. We only consider Childcarers who have been Police checked Using an Agency can save you months of frustration and wasted effort Throughout the engagement we offer support to the Family, providing advice and guidance on Childcare issues that arise. We keep Families fully informed of progress at each stage In the event of the Childcarer terminating, or the Family lawfully terminating, an engagement within 8 weeks of the date upon which the engagement commenced and subject to the conditions set out in the document 'Aegis Nannies Limited Terms of Business', the Family shall receive a rebate calculated in accordance with the method described in the same document. This effectively provides a probationary period for the benefit of the Family and the Childcarer. (Our 'Terms of Business' document can be found using either the Printable Application or the Application Form link from the Family application area) Childcarers: We discuss with you at interview the kind of Family you would prefer to work for and record this carefully and fully on our Childcarers database We look for the perfect family for you by matching your requirements and personality with records on our Family database We will support you through each stage of the process. Help is only a telephone call away during normal office hours Our Star Rating system benefits you as well as Families as it helps provide those in the Industry with proper recognition for their skills and experience Our services are completely free Disadvantages in using a Childcare Agency Families: There is really only one and that is the Agency fee itself. You have to ask yourself whether you have the time, patience, knowledge and experience to find a suitable Childcarer for your family within the time span available. You may be lucky and find the perfect answer first time, or it could drag on for months. Whatever you decide to do we wish you luck, and remember we are only a phone call away. We are more than happy to provide free advice without obligation. Childcarers: There are no drawbacks to using an Agency only advantages as explained above What are the alternatives? There are a growing number of companies offering Internet advertising facilities to families and child/home carers. This provides employment possibilities without the use of an agency. Increasingly charges are being made for these services, although they are normally kept small. The advertising companies accept no responsibility if placements made this way turn out to be unsatisfactory, as it is down to the family to conduct interviews, check references, draw up short lists, etc. There are a small number of Family magazines usually operating in fairly limited areas e.g. South London that offer free adverts to Families and Childcarers, a kind of Exchange & Mart for the Childcare Industry. These magazines are typically published every 2 weeks and distributed by post to subscribers for a fee of around £7 per issue. It is then left to the Family or the Childcarer to do the investigations themselves. This can prove to be a cheap and successful method but there are obvious risks to both the Family and the Childcarer as there are no checks carried out on the advertisers by the magazine.
