Our star rating system for nanny professionals
| |
|
| |
At Aegis Nannies
we use a star rating system to assess applicants and match them against our Family database.
There are three ratings based on a candidates experience and qualifications as follows:
"1 star", "2 star" and "3 star".
Why have three classifications?
-
Each of our nannies is personally interviewed to ensure suitability and will have first rate references, our star rating system is designed to give families an extra level of information when selecting a suitable nanny.
-
Our system tries to address a general lack of a career development framework through which nannies may progress and assess their professional status. We believe that a nanny with a considerable amount of experience in the childcare industry should be able to command a higher salary than a nanny who is just starting out as a child carer.
-
Our star rating system is designed to reflect at a glance each nanny's standing as a professional.
-
The star rating system also assists families in selecting an appropriate childcarer for their needs. For example, a family with a young or newborn child is likely to require a more experienced nanny than a family with older children, and may well find that a 2 star or 3 star nanny is more suitable than a 1 star nanny.
What is a "1 star" nanny?
A "1 star" nanny may be a college graduate, a previous nanny, an ex-school teacher, a mother's help with sole charge experience who wishes to move into sole charge work, a granny etc.
What is a "2 star" nanny?
A "2 star" nanny has a minimum of 3 years experience or one of the below qualifications with one years experience:
- BTEC National in early years care
- NVQ level 3 in child care
- NNEB
- B/ED or BA QTS
- Montessori National Certificate or International Diploma
What is a "3 star" nanny?
A "3 star" nanny has a minimum of 6 years experience or is a college graduate with a minimum of 3 years experience.
Please note, all child care placements for sole charge of a new born must be at least a "2 star" nanny.
